Thank you for taking the time to stop by my new portfolio! While I have been working with web design and all other facets of online business for the past 10 years I had yet to create a portfolio to showcase some of my recent work…until now! Please navigate throughout my site to see what I can do for your business.

Importance Of Your Online Presence

As each year passes more and more of the general population (your customers) turn to the internet to find what product(s) or service(s) they need and want. Hardly anyone opens the Yellow Pages anymore and instead turn to the search engines like Google and Yahoo to research and buy. If your business does not have an online presence you are closing the door to the vast majority of new business. The basics of your online presence should consist of the following (as a starting point):

  • An eye-catching, user friendly, and feature rich website to showcase your product(s) or service(s).
  • A presence in the search engines for the relevant keywords that your business caters to.
  • A presence on social media networks such as Facebook and LinkedIN.
  • Listings in all of the top online business directories that people will search when looking for your business.

Now as mentioned these are the basics and should be the starting point for any business looking to gain more leads from the internet. In addition to the 4 items above there are numerous other advertising avenues that you can take advantage of to gain even more leads. I will explain in a little more detail below.

Your Website – Some say simplicity is king. While I agree with that statement it is also true that content is king when it comes to ranking your website in the search engines. I like to cater to both with my designs in that I create websites that make it simple for your customers to find what they are looking for. I also ensure that there is plenty of textual and image content throughout the site. Many of my customers have this idea that they want a really simple website consisting of not much more than their business name and contact details. I advise them that if they want to actually attract NEW business via online promotions then they need something more advanced. Google loves unique and informative content and use this as one of the main factors in ranking websites in their search engine. I suggest a minimum of 4 pages on your website but obviously this varies due to the nature of your business.

Search Engines – Search engines such as Google, Bing, and Yahoo serve as the new Yellow Pages for business. With everything becoming digital people now look online to find products or services which they are interested in. If your business is not ranked well for the relevant terms you are losing business. Statistics show less than 5% of end users ever navigate beyond the first page of the search results. To make the greatest impact you really need to be on the first page. I can accomplish this for your business with a long term search marketing plan.

Social Media – Social media continues to grow at an amazing rate. 56% of Americans now have a profile on a social media site. Facebook boats the most members and has lots of tools to utilize as a business to gain new leads. Not only does social media give you tons of opportunities to connect with your clients on a more personal level but it also helps influence the purchase decisions of many. If your business does not have a social presence you are again losing business.

Business Directories – As I talk about continually people now look online to find products and services. I have compiled a list of the top online business directories that allow you to submit your business information, hours, services, and more to their directories. These are basically the digital version of the yellow pages. All of the most reputable directories include a user rating and review system which helps people feel more comfortable using your business. I can add your business to all of them as well as managing your customer reviews and more.

These Are Just The Basics

The above mentioned items are the basis of what your business will need to have a dominating online presence. It is actually much more in depth than what I have mentioned in this post. Especially when it comes to the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) of your website and the process in which we take to get your website ranked for the relevant keywords. These are simply pieces of the overall puzzle. If you decide to follow my blog I will be reporting monthly on other things which we should focus on to help you achieve new clients online. Alternatively I would love the opportunity to sit down with you and figure out a game plan for your business!
